Enverga University holds health and wellness day

In honor of World Mental Health Day, the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation conducted a one-day celebration of the Health and Wellness Day at the University Gymnasium, on October 10.

In partnership with One Fitness Horizon, the Human Resource Department, the Health and Safety Office, and the Medical and Dental Services collaborated to organize the event, gathering all the faculty and non-faculty staff and employees of the university.

The two-part program formally commenced in the morning through Senior Vice President and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Benilda Villenas’ opening remarks, followed by Mrs. Evelyn Abeja, VP for Administration, who also delivered a welcome message to everyone.

It was followed by a Zumba exercise to get the attendees warmed up and energized. Dr. Marco Puache, the University Physician, then delivered a lecture focusing on the theme, “Food Trip 101: Awareness Campaign and Food Nutrition.” Then, Dr. Melo Justiniano, Chief of Medical and Dental Services, concluded the morning session with a further discussion centered on food consumption to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Meanwhile, the afternoon session of the event highlighted discourses on Health and Fitness Talk which included Free Fitness Assessment, and Mixed Fitness Sample Workout, headed by key resource speakers Coach Earvin and Coach Christian Cruz, Head and Learning Development of One Fitness Horizon.

Following the talk, Liberato Albacea and Noemi Catalla received the Best in Fitness Attire awards for male and female, respectively and then the Human Resource Department Director Dr. Maria Sylvia S. Avila gave a closing remark to wrap up the second portion of the event. Korina Marie Alibuyog and IL Mc Coulie Del Mundo hosted the program’s morning and afternoon sessions.
