The Enverga-Catanauan Panthers captured their first-ever cheerdance championship at the 4th Chairman’s Cup after posting a winning score of 97.3 percent during the competition held on January 15 as part of the University’s 79th foundation celebration.

Enverga-Lucena Wildcats finished first runner-up with 89.4 percent, while Enverga-Candelaria Jaguars placed second runner-up after earning 82.3 percent.

The cheerdance competition featured representatives from the affiliate schools of Lucena, Candelaria, Catanauan, Calauag, Sampaloc, and San Antonio.

Performances were judged based on choreography (30 percent), stunts (20 percent), pyramid (20 percent), tumbling (10 percent), as well as costume and props (10 percent), cheer and yell (5 percent), and overall impact (5 percent).

The Panthers stood out with a nostalgic, retro-inspired routine drawn from historical themes, highlighted by strong synchronization and high energy.

The championship marked a milestone for Enverga-Catanauan, which bounced back from a second runner-up finish in last year’s Chairman’s Cup.

“Yung mga bata, first day pa lang ramdam na namin yung fighting spirit nila at sobrang consistent lang nila. Ngayon nga na-declare na champion ang Catanauan, sobrang proud ako bilang isang coach,” said Panthers coach Khel Pelejo.

Coach Daryll Ian Glorioso said their main goal was to see the performers enjoy the experience.

“Ang pinaka-goal namin dito ay makita naming nag-e-enjoy yung mga bata, kasi ‘yun ang biggest fulfillment na mabibigay namin sa kanila,” Glorioso said.

“Kasi hindi naman trophy ang ini-aim namin dito. Ang gusto namin ay mabigyan ang lahat ng great show, and that’s enough for us,” he added.

Aside from the cheerdance competition, the 4th Chairman’s Cup also featured basketball games among all affiliate schools and an amateur singing contest open to both students and faculty members, highlighting the event as a celebration of talent and school spirit.
