The College of Computing and Multimedia Studies (CCMS) celebrates as their students finished in 3rd place in the Regional Pitching Competition (CALABARZON) of the Philippine Start-Up Challenge 7 held at Batangas State University-Alangilan Campus on October 24.

The ‘Coffee Coders’ team comprised Gabriel Biler, 3rd-year BSCS; Seth Louis Jarasa, 3rd-year BSEMC; Erika Marca, 4th-year BSEMC; and their mentor, Mr. Darwin Bulawan.

Jarasa presented their 5-minute pitch, followed by a 10-minute question and answer with all the members. The team had the better part of last month to prepare. Crunching numbers, designing, and revising the content of their slides.

He also added that Coffee Coders spent most of their time preparing for the final presentation. He then said that this event intends to give students a platform to grow and elevate their experiences, which helped them finalize their pitch for their proposed project, “We Educate Learners Platform (WELP).”

Project WELP targets students: those who need help with their studies and those who need essential aid. Coffee Coders pitch this project since they foresee these issues and intend to help students gain insight and income.

Thus, the Philippine Start-Up Challenge 2022 is an annual event featuring Filipino Professionals and Students, aiming to create innovative ICT-Based solutions to help solve social problems.
