On Tuesday, October 4, 2022, the municipal administration and the regional office of the Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) acknowledged the introduction of the first batch of taxis and are now serving people in LUCENA CITY with taxis.
The Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has provisionally authorized Goldbourne Philippine Transport Inc. to operate 10 units in the city. The provisional authority is valid for three months, pending the issuing of a franchise conditional on the operator’s compliance with the laws and regulations.
Renwic Rotaqio, director of LTFRB Region 4A, reminded the taxi drivers to adhere to the authority’s stipulations. According to a Manila Bulletin report, Laurence Pedernal, the president of GPTI, stated that the company hand-selects its drivers, emphasizing honesty and civility toward passengers. He promised the commuters that they would provide safe and convenient transportation options.
All taxis will charge P45 for flag down and P13.50 each kilometer thereafter and are also able to travel throughout Calabarzon. Until a Transportation Network Vehicle Service application is allocated to them, their units will be stationed at the two malls in this city, SM City Lucena and Pacific Mall Lucena. The local administration gave a license to conduct business within the city.
