Center for Scholarship, Career, and Job Placement Services (CSCJPS) sought to expand the University’s industry network by establishing partnership with at least two external institutions for each of the university’s 45 academic programs during the 3rd Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) Partners’ Summit at the MSEUF DTYES Alumni Center, Oct. 26.
“May iba’t ibang dahilan ’yung ating partnership, mayroong pang-OJT lang, may pang-placement, pero iisa ang tukoy, we need to develop and enhance ang employability,” said Ma. Isabel D. Granada, Head of CSCJPS.
Ms. Granada emphasized that the partnerships foster mutual benefits for the University and its industry partners, as students gain practical experience through internships and develop competencies for future employment, while partner institutions gain access to potential employees.
“Together with our partners who will provide us […] kung ano ba ang ine-expect na nila ngayon sa mga graduates, sa mga applicants, ’yun naman ang ituturo natin sa kanila, both concepts and experience,” Granada added, highlighting the role of industry partners in informing students about employers’ expectations and the skills required in the workplace.
She also noted that the three-year implementation of the Partners’ Summit has helped establish a support system between the University and its industry partners, strengthening collaboration toward producing career-ready graduates.
Complementing these partnership initiatives, Dr. Felixberto M. Mercado, Dean of the Dr. Cesar A. Villariba Research and Knowledge Management Institute (DCAVRKMI), initiated a discussion on “Enhancing Workplace Competencies Through MSEUF Lifelong Learning Pathways,” which tackled opportunities for continuous learning and professional development.
The presentation featured micro-credentials, the MSEUF Mobile Academy of Lifelong Learning, and graduate programs as avenues for developing workplace competencies.
Among the participating partner institutions were the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region IV-A, Universal Robina Corporation, and SM Supermalls.
The Program Advisory Boards also included representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region IV-A, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Lucena, and Kodecraft Technologies, alongside other institutions.
Through focus group discussions with partner institutions and Program Advisory Boards, the summit provided an avenue for shared industry insights to help align academic curricula with workplace demands and prepare students for employment.
