Despite a fearless effort of dethroning the St. Anne College Lucena Inc. (SACLI) team prevented its back-to-back karatedo championship, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation—Lucena’s (MSEUF – Lucena) team landed 2nd overall spot in the 2024 PRISAA Quezon Chapter Meet, Mar. 22.
Facing formidable opponents, MSEUF – Lucena’s karatedo team displayed remarkable resilience throughout the competition, fueled by their burning desire to excel and led by their dedicated coach, Jennifer C. Cuevas
The Wildcats fought fiercely in each category, leaving no stone unturned in their quest for victory.
The MSEUF – Lucena’s team secured an impressive haul of seven gold, 11 silver, and one bronze medals, a proof to their versatility and depth of talent which earned them widespread admiration and respect from fellow competitors, audience, and spectators alike.
Despite their achievements, victory ultimately dodge them as they folded in surpassing the reigning champions, SACLI.
Despite this setback, MSEUF – Lucena’s team emerged from the competition with their heads held high, knowing they had given their all and left everything on the mat.
Coach Jennifer C. Cuevas expressed pride in her team’s performance, highlighting their dedication, hard work, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
“Training lang po talaga kami nag-focus. More on po sa balance at consistency ng training para po rito sa Quezon Meet at preparation sa regionals,” Mike Andrei Gomez, a team member, said.
MSEUF – Lucena’s karatedo team may not have claimed the top spot, but their spirit and outstanding performance solidified their status as formidable contenders in karatedo.
With their eyes set on the Regional PRISAA, the team is ready to continue their journey, driven by the determination to reach greater heights in the sport.
