Among three proposed ideas in Haraya at Hakbang seminar workshop held in AEC Little Theatre on Dec 1, SB Sec. Ma. Luisa Ocampo approved a centralized agency in Lucena that will handle medical assistance requests where indigents and the general public are given utmost priority.

To widen the scope of the Yellow Card Program and ensure the goals are met, Hans Kasilag along with his groupmates, thought that it would be better to ensure that every resident gets proper, affordable, and high quality healthcare which is a fundamental right as per the Universal Health Care Act 11223.

Aligned with the theme of Haraya at Hakbang: Pagtuklas sa Esensya ng Masusing Paggawa ng Patakaran, two groups of students also presented their ideas solving child labor issues and improving economic growth status.

“Lahat ng napresent niyo ay pwedeng in a form of resolution…at Among the three, pareparehas na yang may Mother B or RA…pero pwede niyong iadopt yan as amendment,” SB Sec Ma. Luisa Ocampo commented.

Despite not being able to create an idea for an ordinance within a short span of time, Ocampo expressed a sense of gratitude for creating a resolution and appreciated the students’ enthusiasm to ignite their flame of imagination, Haraya.

Admittedly, Samantha Deomampo, 2nd year Political Science, recognized their mistake and promised to create a better ordinance that is purely driven by a commitment to the public good rather than personal benefits.

According to Mr. Jose Maria Niño Revadavia, it is great that students are actively participating in policy making. That it is important to have inclusivity to create better governance. Further encouraging students to engage in a systematic way rather than a misdirected one.

On the other hand, Hon. John Joseph G. Aquivido emphasized the essence of having dreams, faith, and prayers first as a policy maker. Any policy maker who doesn’t have a dream or vision to help Filipinos are blinded by their greed for wealth and other selfish gains. Furthermore, the policies created must be implemented appropriately to gain their benefit.

Initially, the seminar workshop was meant for students of Political Science and Public Administration. But Dr. Milagrosa A. Lawas and Mr. Neon Anthony Mila opened the seminar to all Envergan students because they believe that anyone has visions, they just need to gain the courage to take that first step in crafting policies
