Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation Wildcats Cheer Squad marked their first-ever Level 4 Advanced Open Coeducational Competition appearance in the National Cheerleading Championship (NCC) as fourth best in the Philippines.
With zero penalties and deductions, MSEUF Wildcats Cheer Squad earned a total score of 227.5 against six veteran competitors, namely Cavite Patriots Cheer All-Star, Tarlac Cheerleading Dream Squad, ICC Blue Hawks Pep Squad, UB Brahmans Pep Squad, and UIC High Pep Squad.
Based on the official result, MSEUF Wildcats Cheer Squad ranked second in Basket Tosses with a score of 33.5, third in Partner Stunts (61 points) and Pyramids (64 points), and fourth in overall performance (20.5 points).
“Knowing that Wildcats Cheer Squad is a rookie team, fourth place in the Philippines is something to be proud of, and we will make sure to come back stronger in the next competition,” Daryll Ian G. Glorioso, one of the Head Coaches of MSEUF Wildcats Cheer Squad, declared.
On the other hand, Rham Gail O. Manuel, one of the Captain’s of the MSEUF Wildcats Cheer squad, saw the importance of improving the team’s partner stunt, pyramids, basket tosses, tumbling, routine flow, and overall performance after their first national competition.
“We’re not like those old versions of ourselves who struggled to perform a decent stunt, and I see each one of us as someone who is dedicated to learning new skills when it comes to cheerleading,” Manuel said.
Held at Philippine Sports Area, Pasig City, on March 24, NCC Season 17 allowed the MSEUF Wildcats Cheer Squad to realize their strength and weaknesses in cheerleading.
