College of Criminal Justice and Criminology’s Juris Peritus Criminis in cooperation with the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) raised awareness about the perils of drug abuse through the help of Pat. Bryan Robert Garcia, held at EMRC 5, Feb. 23.

Garcia, renowned for his expertise in law enforcement and drug prevention initiatives, delivered a presentation highlighting the societal impacts of drug addiction and its implications for public safety. He also underscored the critical role that community engagement and education play in combating the drug menace.

The seminar, attended by Criminology students, provided a platform for dialogue and discourse on effective strategies for addressing drug-related challenges. Through interactive sessions and informative discussions, participants gained valuable insights into the complexities of drug abuse and the multifaceted approaches needed to address the issue comprehensively.

“It has been the JPC’s annual activity to give an in-depth knowledge about drugs and their complexities. This is a platform for future law enforcers to gain insights on how to deal with drug abuse,” Zhyril Perez, Vice President of JPC.

The initiative underscores the proactive stance of the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology in promoting community welfare and fostering a culture of responsibility and awareness.

Hence, by equipping individuals with the necessary information and resources, initiatives like these empower communities to take a stand against drug abuse and work towards a safer and healthier society.
