Freedom’s Cost

In hearts, the flame of freedom burns bright,
Thirty-eight years since that pivotal fight.
EDSA, where the people’s power rose,
A nation united, against oppressive throes.

In ’86, a nation stood tall,
Defying tyranny’s suffocating thrall.
With courage and hope, they took their stand,
Hand in hand, across the land.

On the streets of EDSA, they gathered as one,
Under the blazing sun, until the battle was won.
Voices echoed, demanding their right,
To forge a future bathed in democracy’s light.

Though time may pass, the spirit remains,
In every Filipino, it forever sustains.
Remembering the sacrifice, the unity, the power,
Of EDSA’s moment, in history’s tower.

Thirty-eight years, a testament profound,
To the strength of a people, forever unbound.
Let us honor their legacy, let us never forget,
The courage of EDSA, in freedom’s debt.
