CED celebrates Science Month 2022

College of Education students participated in various online activities of Science Month Celebration 2022 with the theme “Agham at Teknolohiya: Kabalikat sa Maunlad at Matatag na Kinabukasan” on Nov. 19.

Showcasing creativity and skills to promote innovation and scientific discovery in essay writing, spoken word poetry, pageant, photo essay, instructional material, slogan, and poster making through the official page of “A Group Harvesting Acquired Knowledge through Scientific Method”, AGHAM.

With two participants from the category of making an I.M., Jaqueline Penaroyo built a diorama with several Q.R. codes for students to scan and get information about the ecological level of organization: organisms, population, community, biosphere, and ecosystem landing 1st place.

In the second place, Ralph Janzen Monticalvo created three 3D cubes connected, unraveling unique topics in science through every face of the cube.

In the pageant, Dessiree Abrea was crowned as Bb. AGHAM 2022, is a queen of eco-friendliness and intelligence. She also bagged special awards for exhibiting the best talent, production number, and advocacy and was honored with the People’s Choice Award.

Competing against her, Margeline Ranillo got the 2nd spot with awards for having the best in the creative tote bag, Miss Photogenic, and casual wear. Camille Garais claims 3rd place.

In addition, M-jay Condeza (1st), Jelyn Lepon (2nd), and Nathaniel Angelo A. Estipona (3rd) won in slogan making. While Jobel Anne Portes drew her way up to champion, Mary Louise Gariando grabbed 2nd place, and Hajica Jalla spots 3rd in poster making.

Furthermore, Razelle Villacastin Lacson landed in 1st place for his persuasive spoken word poetry. Joseph Israel Aureada ranked 2nd and Lhance Angelo M. Abarra got 3rd spot.

Victors in essay writing were Jobel Anne Portes, Joseph Israel Aureada, and Hajica Jalla, respectively. On the other hand, Eloiza Denise F. Belleza captured 1st place in photo essay followed by Cayl Genesis Lavarro at the 2nd spot and Catherine P. Quijano at 3rd.

All output of the students was collected using Google Forms and Drive. However, the pageant was held in Microsoft Team and streamed on Facebook.
