This year’s edition of Binibining Agham, with the theme “Agham at Teknolohiya: Tugon sa Hamon ng Panahon,” commenced with Dr. Carmina Tolentino delivering her opening remarks, welcoming everyone virtually and emphasizing the showcasing of contestants’ beauty and talents. 

Mrs. Joselina T. Baylongo, Dean of the College of Education, also shared a warm message, stating, “I am very proud of everyone for pushing the event forward despite the pandemic. We lifted it to God for him to show us the way.” 

The virtual event had four judges, namely Ms. Joyce Anne Garduque, Ms. Licel Fernandez, Mr. Leonardo Quarteros, Ms. Gessica Pureza Neor, and Ms. Esperanza Maribao. Mr. John Paul Ramos provided the closing remarks for the event.

Contestant Names are listed below:

Candidate #1 :Yvette Sabida Rimpula – 1st year, BEED

Candidate #2: Mary Nole Ursolino – 3rd year, BSED-English

Candidate #3: Princess Regine Malaquilla – 1st year BSED Mathematics

Candidate #4: Hailey Kate Laqui – 1st year, BLIS

Candidate #5: Mae Czarina Uy – 4th year, BEED

Yvette Rimpula’s advocacy is extending security in food production for the people, especially beyond distant civilizations. 

The advocacy of Mary Nole Ursolino focuses on the collection of plastic bottles to grow plants for another life for a better environment. 

Princess Malaquilla’s advocacy is to promote excellence and education for elementary students focusing on science and technology for world change. 

Hailey Laqui’s advocacy is planting trees for the betterment of the environment starting in her community for the benefit of not only the environment but also the people surrounding it. 

Lastly, Mae Czarina Uy’s advocacy is planting trees believing that planting trees not only benefits us but also the next generation. She is encouraging AGHAM students to start planting in their own homes. 

After stating their advocacy, they exhibit their production number following the flexing of their stunning casual wear. Next is presenting their talents like how Yvette Rimpula and Hailey Kate Laqui sang beautiful songs, Mary Ursolino danced with her lovely white dress, and Mae Czarina Uy alluring face painting all with the theme focusing on the environment.

Contestants also shared the artistic designs of creative reusable face masks using recycled materials like crepe paper, flowers, leaves, and newspapers.
