Enverga University’s official publication, The Luzonian, stands proud as it was recognized as one of the Top 10 best-designed papers in the country and for winning the Best in News Photography of the Best-Designed Campus Papers of the Philippines (BDCP) in its awards night on February 14, via Facebook Live.

BDCP is a media/news company that aims to give praise and recognition to well-designed and content-containing campus papers in the Philippines in a total of 34 categories: five Main Categories, 18 Sub-Categories, and 11 Special Categories.

Already in its second season, the competition was joined by many contenders which were eventually filtered and whittled down into batches of finalists for each category.

All in all, The Luzonian competed with 197 of the country’s top publications and has been nominated in 7 categories, namely:

1) Top 10 Finalists (only contender from Quezon Province),

2) Classic Newspaper Design – The Luzonian Tabloid,

3) Best in Typography and Font Choices – The Luzonian Tabloid,

4) Best in News Photography – The Luzonian Tabloid,

5) Best Environment Story – The Luzonian Newsletter (Gintong Tamis na Biyaya ng Kalikasan – Louise Melka Saavedra),

6) Story Best Sports Page Design – The Luzonian Tabloid, and

7) Best Editorial Page Design – The Luzonian Tabloid.

The awarding ceremony for the competition was held virtually because of the restraints caused by the current pandemic. Technical difficulties plagued the event, but it was pulled through.

The victories of The Luzonian prove that it is one of the outstanding student publications in the Philippines.
