SocSciSoc holds Martial Law webinar

The CAS Social Sciences Society organized a webinar entitled “Anibersaryo ng Deklarasyon ng Batas Militar” last September 29, 2022, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law in 1972, which was participated by various students, professors, and other guests via Zoom and Facebook Live.

Mr. Arby Lagman, adviser of the organization, welcomed the participants and reminded them to continue to fight against injustices in society.

Dr. Reuel Aguila from the University of the Philippines discussed why people should never forget history, especially the events surrounding the martial rule under former president Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

Mr. Louie Crismo, former Secretary General of FIND and brother of Romeo Crismo who went missing during the martial law period, explained the search for missing persons at present, and also his experience.

Ms. Tanya Camila Villota, the activity chairperson of the program, thanked those who contributed to the success of the activity and called on everyone to combat disinformation and to never forget the past.
