Proving its commitment to the improvement of campus facilities, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) unveiled its new Information and Communication Technology Department (ICTD) iLounge in an inaugural blessing at the University Library, Nov. 7.

According to ICTD Director Jose Tan Jr., the ICTD iLounge, formerly the Internet Access Center (IAC), was designed to replicate the ambiance of a cafe which will be a relaxing place for students to study and for faculty members to do their work.

“The vision for this facility is for students to feel relaxed while studying. We wanted a cozy place for students, and even faculty members, to do their assignments and projects,” Tan said.

“Maybe it is safe to say na tayo lang ang may ganito (iLounge) sa Quezon—sa Enverga University lang,” Tan said, emphasizing that the facility is the first of its kind in Quezon.

In her speech, Executive Vice President, Officer in Charge for the Office of the President, and Vice President for Academics and Research Benilda Villenas noted the facility as ‘a place of endless potential and a new hub of possibilities.’

“The iLounge is not only a personal space, it is a launching pad for ideas, a habitat of collaboration, and a place where curiosity meets technology,” Villenas said.

Along with the ICTD iLounge, MSEUF also held a blessing for its new Parking I and J along Madrid St., and College of Computing and Multimedia Studies (CCMS) Building.

During the ceremony at the ICTD iLounge, Office of Scholarship, Endowment, Job Placement, and Alumni Relations (OSEJPAR) Director Ma. Isabel Granada, who served as the host, highlighted that such improvements in the University were carefully planned and are always guided by its mission, vision, and goals.

Fr. Ferdinand Maaño facilitated the blessing that started from the parking areas to the CCMS Building and the ICTD iLounge in the University Library.

Along with Chairman Wilfrido L. Enverga and his family, executive officers, deans, faculty members, and students were also present during the event.
