Envergan Pride and Quezon Queen Rueil Viana Montserrat highlighted the need for the PRISAA organization to support student-athletes during the Question-and-Answer portion of the Mutya ng PRISAA CALABARZON 2024 held at AEC Little Theater, May 20.

In her title-clinching response to the question of what she could change in the Regional Meet, Montserrat emphasized the need to be more inclusive and have sufficient financial support needed by student-athletes.

“If I could change one thing about the PRISAA Organization, it would be having to spread more inclusivity to others… [Also] I think we need to put more financial care into athletes… We, athletes, are not only the pride and honor of our universities, but we are the future of our generation—and we need the best possible support we can get from the PRISAA Organization,” Montserrat said.

Montserrat bested six other candidates from different provinces in the region as she earned the Best in Filipiniana Attire, Most Photogenic, and Best in Long Gown special awards, aside from the most-coveted title.

Meanwhile, another bet from the Quezon delegation, Niña Montuerto of the College of Sciences, Technology & Communications, secured the 2nd Runner-up. At the same time, Miss Cavite Intel Khaye Polon of De La Salle University Dasmariñas and Miss Batangas Allyah Lei Mondigo of the University of Batangas snagged 1st and 3rd Runners-up, respectively. Polon also secured the Best in Talent and Best in Sportswear special awards at the coronation.

Montserrat is set to compete in the National Mutya ng PRISAA 2024 in July, aiming to replicate the feat of Mutya ng PRISAA 2023 Raihjja Lames for a back-to-back win.
