With the course title “Introduction to Android Services,” the first week of the 5-week Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) Foundation Course concluded on Oct. 13, almost two weeks after the conduct of the webinar entitled “The Future of Mobile Industry.”

During the said webinar, speakers from Huawei Philippines and Huawei India discussed Mobile App Industry insights, HMS Ecosystem Introduction, Creation of Huawei ID, HMS Core Capabilities and Kit Examples, Huawei Developer Forum, and HMS Foundation Course Overview.

The webinar served as an orientation and onboarding session for the 5-week HMS Foundation Course that started on October 13.

The remaining four courses will be conducted every Wednesday each week from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM on Oct. 20 to Nov. 17, with the topics Huawei Mobile Service Basic for the second week and third week, Huawei Mobile Service Advanced for the fourth week, and App Gallery and App Release for the fifth week.

Sanghati Mukherjee, HMS Core Expert and the Lead Trainer from Huawei India served as the trainer during the recently concluded Week 1 course. He will also be the trainer for the remaining courses in the following weeks.

The faculty members from the College of Computing and Multimedia Studies (CCMS) and the students, mostly taking Information Technology and Computer Science, attended the course, along with some students from the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) and Institute of Graduate Studies and Research (IGSR).

For the entire course duration, participants will learn to develop and publish apps for both Android and Huawei devices. They will also get free access to training videos, articles, sample applications, sample codes, sample assignments, and codelabs. An exam certificate will be provided at the end of the course.

Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF), through the College of Computing and Multimedia Studies, has an industry-based partnership with Huawei, and programs like the HMS Foundation Course are the benefits of this partnership.
