Outstanding community outreach and impactful university initiatives secured the Honor Society of Lambda Sigma (HSLS) the title of Top Performing Student Organization for the Academic Year 2023-2024 during the recognition ceremony at the AEC Little Theatre, Nov. 13.
With projects such as the Sigman Fun Run, donation drives for BJMP, and the enhancement of the Student Organization Lounge, HSLS demonstrated its commitment to benefiting not only the Enverga University but also communities beyond its campus.
Office of Student Organization Coordinator and Prefect of Student Discipline Office Roderick Rabina explained the criteria of the panel for choosing the top performing student organizations.
“Tinitingnan nila yung quality ng activity na ipino-provide nila kasi tumitingin sila anong services na binibigay nila kasi hindi kasi basta more on training, seminar or meetings,” he discussed.
Rabina also added that the selected panel examined the significant outcomes of the conducted activities by the student organizations to those targeted beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants, MSEUF Communication Society, CAS Psychological Society, and Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers also made it to the top five performing student organizations, with HSLS taking the lead for its inclusive approach and impactful initiatives.
UCSC President Gianne Pagana, Sir Arby Lagman of the Health and Safety Office (HSO), and Mam Leah T. Salas of the Corporate Planning and Development Office were the panelists of the student accreditation.
Mam Salas, one of the panelists, commended HSLS for its organizational resilience and community-centered projects, stating that their initiatives consistently addressed real needs and created lasting benefits.
Futhermore, the student organizations that have been consistently part of the Top 5 Best Performing Student Organizations for three consecutive years will be receiving a certificate of accreditation with two-year validity.
On the other hand, HSLS’ Most Exalted Sister Kaye Heray recalled their Fun Run event as their biggest student activity that brought impact to a wider set of beneficiaries including students, faculty, and adult employees.
“Ang Fun Run ay nag-serve as kick-off ceremony ng 65th anniversary ng HSLS and ang proceeds [nito] ay nagamit namin para ma-enhance ang Student Organizations Lounge kung saan napaltan namin ang nameplates ng organizations at nakapagpintura kami ng mga lamesa at nakapagdagdag ng flag lights ng tambayan,” Heray added.
Overall, 57 student organizations have been listed as official and recognized as MSEUF student organizations for the Academic Year 2024-2025.
