EU-PHISMET conducts 5th MedTech Week

To celebrate MedTech week, the MSEUF Philippine Society of Medical Technology Students (PHISMET) held a 3-day event for MedTech students with the theme “Keeping United Towards Clinical Excellence” at St. Bonaventure Student Center, Oct. 19-21.

The event highlighted MSEUF MedTech students’ talent, skills, and artistry with various activities like booth-making contests, MedTech Quiz Bee, and MedTech Got Talent. During the booth-making contest, 1st-year students won 1st place with their Anatomy booth; 2nd-year students’ Cytogenetics booth and 3rd-year students’ Parasitology and Microbiology booth settled for 2nd place; and 4th-year students placed third in Immunology Serology and Blood Banking booth. For the MedTech Got Talent, Janine Yna A. Marino, 3rd year, came in first place for solo singing; Claire N. Nacario and Chelsea Ann R. Aurin grabbed the 2nd place with their dance; and the 1st year participants composed of Diana Lei S. Macasinag, Aron Vincent V. De Leon, Loisse Myka Tan T. Aquino and Megan Q. Dela Torre placed third with their group dance.

Groups with 1st to 4th-year student members competed in the MedTech Quiz Bee with Nicole Campana, Ara Galido, Kirsten Rose Mae Abadicio, and Sophia Nicole Abaca bagging the first place. According to Mark Jasper C. Calabano, MSEUF-PHISMET President, the event was celebrated to highlight the hardships of MedTech students and spread awareness to the audience about what MedTech students do.

Meanwhile, a general orientation was also held to introduce PHISMET advisers, medical technology professors, and a new set of officers for the academic year 2022-2023, oath-taking, and intermission of PHISMET officers.
