With the theme entitled “Envergan Nurses: Inspired by Caring Legacy,” the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (CNAHS) marked its annual event on the ground for the first time after two years of the pandemic at St. Bonaventure Student Center, Oct. 27.

On the first day of the event, Nurses Week featured a Nurse quiz bee in which 1st year to 4th year nursing students were to answer the following questions that had been tackled on their previous subjects.

A group of nursing students namely Renz Marielle Serrano (4th year), Crizzel Lastrado (3rd year), Maria Robby Angelica Perez (2nd year), Carl John Calina (1st year), and Jedidah Estrada (1st year) won 3rd place in Quiz Bee while another group who grabbed the 2nd place are Nazareen Orbase (4th year), Rith Aala (3rd year), Beverly Mendoza (2nd year), Dan Jansen Atentar (1st year), and Rinalyn Basa (1st year). At last, the winners who clinched first place are Florence Macatugob (4th year), Cecilia Marie Rojo (3rd year), Kristine Jovelle Bautista (2nd year), Anne Llorente (1st year), and Christine Jewel Banagan (1st year).

The afternoon session was formally opened by the special guest speaker Dr. Melchor P. Avanilla regarding the event’s theme where he narrated his life before and after he became a nurse.

In Nurse Got Talent, four contestants proudly showcase their talent portion. Angelica Paderon (3rd year) took the 3rd place while Marvin Liam Pawelas (1st year) grabbed the 2nd place. Another 1st year John Carl Castillo won 1st place in the contest.

However, due to typhoon suspension last Oct. 28, the second day of the event was postponed and soon to be followed by another event.
