Envergan Orgs join forces for Tree Planting Activity

Faculties and students from all accredited organizations congregated near the College of Maritime Education building and University Swimming Pool to plant seedlings in the annual Tree Planting Program as a part of MSEUF’s 76th Foundation Anniversary.

Academic heads, faculty, and three representatives from each accredited student organizations participated in the event held on Feb. 10.

According to Mrs. Reina Pasumbal in her opening message, BEd Principal and 76th Foundation Week Chairperson, tree planting is a mission, dedication for all and the most significant event in the celebration.

Ma’am Pasumbal added that these seedlings chosen by student leaders should be passed on and be taken care of next generation of student leaders.

Meanwhile, Captain Epifanio Ada, Dean of the College of Maritime Education (CME), said that he received an advice to plant a tree to have a prosperous life and he thinks that this time is the payback time to plant trees within university forests.

Afterwards, Jemson M. Paralleon, UCSC officer and CME Representative, briefed the participants of the event followed by them gladly picking their seedlings and head to different areas where the event was held.

Seedlings of mahogany, narra, and fruit bearing trees such as rambutan were among the seedlings planted during the event.
