Students from the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management (CIHTM) participated in the Department of Tourism’s Flagship Training Program that talked about the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence held at the AEC Little Theater, February 23.
In her speech, Dr. Maricel Herrera, CIHTM Dean, reminded the students to always live out the values that everyone in the hospitality and tourism management fields must possess.
Meanwhile, Mr. Keneth C. de Gracia, Tourism Operations Officer II from the Department of Tourism – CALABARZON, gave the workshop to the students where he focused on the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence which consists of being “Malikhain, Makatao, Makakalikasan, Makabansa, Masayahin, May Bayanihan, and May Pag-asa” or 7M’s that corresponds to the values Filipinos are well known.
Afterwards, the participants were divided into different groups to demonstrate a core values in the hospitality and tourism management settings, through a role play and video presented in front of the participants.
The second part of the event featured the things to be considered in accommodating guests, and an activity to assess the skills of the students in the treatment of guests.
