Comm students boost filmmaking in EU; 3 entries enter CineBedista 2023 finals

Three films from the third and fourth-year Bachelor of Arts in Communication students further advanced the film landscape in Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation after earning spots in CineBedista 2023 finals, announced on Monday, Feb. 26.

‘Simpleng Pagtindig,’ a short documentary film directed by Irvin Salvador and produced by select fourth-year Communication students, was announced as one of the Top 12 finalists in the Sibol category.

Meanwhile, ‘Pananaw,’ a documentary film directed by Bernadette Baldovino and Ervie Jay Torzar and produced by Diez Productions, became one of the Top 7 finalists in the Hiraya category.

The film “8”, also directed and produced by Torzar, was revealed as a finalist for Best Teaser and Best Poster in the Hiraya category.

These three films are vying for the Best Teaser and Best Poster through Facebook online voting, which will end on March 2, 2024, at 11:59 pm.

The winners of the Hiraya and Sibol categories and the Best Teaser and Best Poster will be announced at the Awards Night on March 23, 2024.
