CE students, faculty, alumni celebrate 44th PICE MSEUF SC Founding Anniversary

In line with the 44th founding anniversary of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) MSEUF-SC, 275 Civil Engineering sophomores, juniors, and seniors joined a celebration at the University for the newly licensed civil engineers, newly elected PICE officers, and tribute to the graduating students on April 30.

During the event, Ms. Haya Roberto, the activity chairperson, started the program with opening remarks, followed by the Dean’s speech, congratulating the new board exam passers.

“Congratulations to the newly passers of the Civil Engineering licensure examination, and to the newly elected officers; alagaan ang [organization],” Engr. Cielito V. Maligalig said.

Twenty-seven new passers of the Civil Engineering Licensure Examination were acknowledged during the program. Guest speaker Engr. Krisha Alicante gave her speech and shared her experiences as a student while Engr. Matthew Simon San Miguel led the oath of the newly elected officers.

Meanwhile, former PICE MSEUF SC President Dan Joshua Bautista welcomed on stage the newly elected PICE president, Ms. Samantha Pañoso and led the lighting of the candles ceremony.

“Buong puso ang aking pagtanggap at pagganap sa mga responsibilidad ng posisyong ipinagkaloob ninyo sa akin,” Ms. Pañoso said.

Showcasing their talents, Janna Valbuena, Nalbert Areno and Arnold Ricafort serenaded the audience while John Mark Pateño performed spoken word poetry as a tribute to the graduating seniors.

Activities during the ceremony include awarding ceremonies, raffles of new calculators and photo booths.

Additionally, Mr. Mark Genesis David and Ms. Haya Roberto won the on-the-spot Best Dressed Competition. Civil Engineering advisers Engr. Jessa Mae Gomez and Engr. Uzziel Abib Gabiola ended the formal ceremony with their message to 4th-year students, and the night ended with a fellowship with DJ Karl Aundrey.
