CHESS UPDATES | Here are the winners for the Chess Men’s and Women’s Division at the Intramural Games 2024 happened at the DTYES Alumni Building and Library Seminar Hall:
WINNERS MEN’S DIVISION
CEng Tigers Men’s Team bring home golds and titles in this year’s Chess Tournament at the Intramural Games in the University Library Seminar Hall, November 15. The CCJC Cheetahs claim silver medal while the CBA Lions seize the bronze.

These are the top players after the 5 round matches in Men’s Division:

On Board 1, John Carlo Siaga from CEng Tigers places first, Ezikiel Marino from CCJC Cheetahs secures second, and Lorenz Mico Vitasa from CNAHS Leopards attains third place.

On Board 2, Mark Spencer Pedro from CBA Lion reigns as champion, Reyjohn Dela Cuesta from CCJC Cheetahs ranks second, and Jedrick Lorredo from CEng Tigers places third.

On Board 3, CEng Tigers’ Jericho Jordan Resico comes out on top, John Luis De San Andres from CCJC Cheetahs reigns as second, and John Wyn Aldrei Estrella from CME places third.

CAS Lynx Women’s Chess Team triumphs the 5-round chess tournament over all departments in the battle of logic at the Intramural Games 2024 Chess event on November 14 and 15 at the University Library Seminar Hall. The CBA Lions bagged silver medals while the CEng Tigers seized bronze.

These are the list of players who topped the Women’s Division:

On Board 1, Alekhine Abaricia from CAS Lynx is first, Andrea Nicole Banandian from CNAHS comes second, and Jane Patrie Masinsin from CCMS Sabertooth places third.

On Board 2, Micha Terrenal from CAS Lynx is first place, Josephine Contreras from CCJC Cheetahs is second place, and Jaira Bolanos from CBA Lions is third place.

On Board 3, Paullynn Daim Train from CAS Lynx secures first, Charmaine Joyce Torres from CEng Tigers places second, and Kimberly Glorioso from CCJC Cheetah pulls off third.
