Gathering industry partners of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF), the Office of Scholarship, Endowments, Job Placement, and Alumni Relations (OSEJPAR) aimed to foster stronger collaboration as it hosted the University’s first-ever Partners’ Summit at the AEC Little Theater, Oct. 4.

Guest speaker and Hytec Power Inc. Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Eric Jude S. Soliman discussed the shared commitment to advancing education, the importance of the partnership, and how it can contribute to society.

“Strong collaboration between academia and industry is essential to driving innovation, developing products and services that propel economic growth, and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship or technopreneurship. By working together, we can help build a nation that thrives in innovation and opportunity, ultimately uplifting both the economy and society,” Soliman said.

Soliman also highlighted the importance of upskilling, bridging the job skills gap, using micro-certification programs, preparing the next generation for the challenges they will face in the workplace, and empowering them to contribute meaningfully to society.

Meanwhile, in his welcome remarks, Vice President for External Relations Celso D. Jaballa said that the summit aims to develop an advisory council to help the University achieve its mission of providing forward-thinking and globally competitive education.

“By uniting leaders from different sectors, we aim to promote innovation, share best practices, and collaboratively design solutions that will enhance the university’s capacity to deliver transformative education,” VP Jaballa said.

Moreover, OSEJPAR Director Maria Isabel D. Granada reiterated their aim to form the council, which will aid MSEUF in improving its facilities and laboratories by providing feedback and advice.

“Kayo na po ngayon ay miyembro ng Enverga University Advisory Board […] We are going to seek your support and guidance in employment trends and the employability of our graduates […] You are a force in the actual fields or the industries, so your insights will really be valid,” Granada said.

Meanwhile, Research Publication, Incubation, and Utilization Center (RPIUC) representative Gladys Gorales and Learning and Development Center (LDC) Director Reina V. Pasumbal called for collaboration, discussing incubation and innovation and micro-certification, respectively.

Thirty-nine individual partners from 22 different industries, invited by the respective Deans of the University’s colleges, attended the said event.
