MSEUF Graduating Class of 2023 stride their way to the University Gymnasium for their 76th Baccalaureate Services and Commencement Exercises, June 29, 2023.
A total of 885 candidates for graduation marched during graduation ceremony including 33 students of the College of Maritime Education (CME), 64 of the College of Multimedia and Computing Studies (CCMS), 129 of the College of International and Tourism Management (CHITM), 51 of the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (CNAHS), 256 of the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology (CCJC), 103 of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), 166 of the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), and 83 of the College of Education (CED). Among the graduates, 16 received magna cum laude, 58 cum laude, and 127 attained special awards.
Cluster One’s graduation ceremony was hosted by Reina V. Pasumbal, principal of the Basic Education Department, which uniformly began with a speech from Madame Naila E. Leveriza, University President and Chief Operating Officer.
The event was followed by an invocation led by Rev. Fr. Ferdinand I. Maaño, then the singing of the National Anthem by the MSEUF Concert Singers. A speech from Ms. Althea Dianne Baculi, Magna Cum Laude of CCMS, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, came next before Senior Vice President/Vice President for Academics and Research Benilda Villenas and the department deans conveyed the endorsement of candidates for graduation and faculty presentation.
Thus, Madame Leveriza bestowed the degrees, titles, and certificates and congratulated the graduates. The graduates were enumerated in the latter part of the program, along with the distribution of academic awards, special awards, diplomas, and certificates.
As part of the ceremony, graduates were also inducted into the MSEUF Alumni Association by Mr. Guillermo Rago Jr., President of the Association, and the recitation of the Pledge of Loyalty to the Alma Mater which was led by Vince Viren Cantara.
The ceremony lasted for four hours and ended with the Alma Mater Song and University Hymn by Jhafet C. Ferrer and Romerica Rae Gocon, respectively, and a parting message from the host.
